Event States

Things can get colorful (or colourful, if you are from 🇨🇦) fast. Use the guide below to better understand what all of these colors/colours mean.

Active in Thread

A blue border indicates that the Event is contained in the Thread that is currently selected in the Thread List Manager.
Only one Thread can be selected at a time and all Events in that Thread will have a blue border.

Selected

An orange border with a light orange background indicates that this Event is currently selected. This state will also show the PLUS icon and the menu options below the Event.
notion image

notion image

Inactive

This Event is not contained in the actively selected Thread. It is still calculating. This is an Event’s normal state.

notion image

Error or Incomplete

A red border indicates that this Event is missing data and can’t calculate. In some cases, this is because the ADD NOW, FILL LATER option was selected.
In other cases, upstream Events or data may not be present that this Event needs to calculate

Locked

A red border indicates that this Event is missing data and can’t calculate. In some cases, this is because the ADD NOW, FILL LATER option was selected.
In other cases, upstream Events or data may not be present that this Event needs to calculate

Non-Calculating

A greyed out Event is an indication that an Event is not calculating. This only happens when another sub-Thread in a Decision is locked.
Because that Event is locked, all other Events in that Decision that are not contained in that same Thread go grey and are no longer calculating.

Bypassed

In whatifi, it is possible to temporarily bypass an Event’s calculations. This can be very useful for troubleshooting or quickly testing an Event’s influence on the final Thread calculation.

notion image

Connectable

When in Connect Mode, an orange border indicates that an Event can be connected to.

Linked

When copying and pasting an Event, you can opt to create a Linked Copy. This means that any changes to one Event will automatically update any values in other linked Events.
