Resource Event
Capacity Event
Multi Record
The Resource Event is used to allocate required Employees, resources and date ranges to a Project or Contract.
The Resource Event assigns and allocates Employees Needed resources to a Project or Contract. This Event also works with the Import Event to automatically import values from a spreadsheet or CSV file. It is a key Event required to drive capacity calculations.
Can be used for ...
Use the Resource Event to forecast how many Employee resources, of different types, will be required to complete a contract or project over a given duration.
Common Connections
The Resource Event can be combined with the Contract, Project, Utilization and Capacity Events to model resource needs.

Event States
The Resource Event is designed to allocate or distribute a fixed number of person-days over a set date range. We support the ability to control how you allocate those days (fixed/amortized) and whether the days are evenly distributed across the date range or have a custom distribution (front loaded, bell curve, back loaded, etc)
Fixed Duration
- The range for the Resource need is set with a fixed start and end date
Amortized Duration
- The range for the Resource need starts with a fixed start date and the end date is calculated based on the number of months the task/project is amortized over
Set Amount
- The Resource need (in hours) is a fixed amount evenly distributed over the task duration
Distributed Amount
- The Resource need (in hours) can be manually weighted and redistributed over time using a profile curve.

The Distribution Editor
The Distribution Editor allows you manually add “keyframes” to a distribution graph. The Distribution Graph controls how the overall resource requirements are allocated, month by month, over the duration of the task.
This is still a beta feature.
Changing the duration of a task may create issues where the graph does not accurately “re-map” to the revised date range.
